PETERSON: And it says here ah well basically, I was there between 10:35 and 10:50.
GROGAN: Okay.
PETERSON: Um I’ll hang on to this until I see ya or you send someone for it.
GROGAN: Yeah, I’ll probably give him a call to set up an ah interview with him but ah—wanted to ask you I think about that jewelry also ah—
PETERSON: Yeah.
GROGAN: She had on that morning for sure the diamond earrings, right?
PETERSON: Yeah.
GROGAN: And she had on a wrist watch that is diamond encrusted I have –
PETERSON: I believe so.
GROGAN: around the side. What’s the metal on that though, is it silver or gold or –
PETERSON: Um, I don’t know, she had a couple of ‘em—I think she has a silver one and a gold one? A couple of gold ones.
GROGAN: She had two gold ones?

PETERSON: Think so. So _____
GROGAN: (Overlaps above) The one she had on it would be gold, probably, the metal?
PETERSON: Yeah.
GROGAN: Alright.
PETERSON: Probably. (Coughs) Better chance that than anything else.
GROGAN: What about dental records?
PETERSON: Oh yeah, I meant to go—I’ll um, I’ll go by there—dental office today and get the—name of it.
GROGAN: Okay. You seen ______ by then?
PETERSON: Yeah, I just know where it is, you know, it’s like—drive there.
GROGAN: Okay.
PETERSON: I didn’t go by yesterday.
GROGAN: One of the things I noticed when I was out at the house is you had like ah four ah degrees or something up on the wall? Are all those yours?
PETERSON: What’s that?
GROGAN: You had like four college degrees up on the wall?
PETERSON: Well that was a joke from Laci. We have our um degrees from Cal Polyup there?
GROGAN: Yeah.
PETERSON: And ah the rest of ‘em were jokes that she set up for me because I went to all those schools but oh—to study those things—it is ah kind of a running joke because I went to school for so long?
GROGAN: Oh, okay.

PETERSON: Took so many different classes—‘cause that—
GROGAN: The look kinda real though, I mean they look—they look like—
PETERSON: Yeah, she got ‘em at a someplace that (chuckles) makes ‘em look real but ah
GROGAN: Okay. So you went to all those schools but the only one that’s a real degree is the—the one from ah—
PETERSON: San Luis—
GROGAN: San Luis—
PETERSON: Yeah, agriculture, yeah.
GROGAN: Alright.
PETERSON: Yeah she makes fun of me for—
GROGAN: (coughs)
PETERSON: studying so many different things.
GROGAN: Okay um—let’s see—the ah—wanted to ask you about ah—did—do you know if she had ever driven your truck?
PETERSON: Oh sure.
GROGAN: Okay, so Laci has driven it?
PETERSON: _____, oh yeah.
GROGAN: And is that—I don’t even remember—I didn’t look in there—is it a stick shift or ah—
PETERSON: No it’s Automatic.
GROGAN: Auto—okay.
PETERSON: Yeah she liked it because it ____ up and down?
GROGAN: Okay. Ah either one of ya ever been injured in the truck or anything? You ever been in an accident or anything like that?

PETERSON: No, never been in an accident. Might find blood climbing in it but—
GROGAN: You know what that was from?
PETERSON: well I mean I—cut my hands every day.
GROGAN: Okay. Ah
PETERSON: ___ I cut my hand that day.
GROGAN: You cut your hand that day?
PETERSON: Yeah.
GROGAN: How’d that happen?
PETERSON: Um reached in that side ah pocket in the door?
GROGAN: What cut ya?
PETERSON: I mean I know Allen looked at my hands and I know he noticed cuts on my hands so—he knows.
GROGAN: Okay. What ah—ah I didn’t notice any there that night but—did ah—what was in there that cut ya?
PETERSON: I don’t know what it was, it was probably just the ah door or the pocket or somethin’. ___ knuckle. Still my hand I—you know—I keep cuttin’ it handlin’ out flyers so—that’s the reasons I—keep rememberin’ it.
GROGAN: So you just had like a scuff n your knuckle or something?
PETERSON: Yeah, yeah. Still here.
GROGAN: Alright. So that would be your—which—which hand?
PETERSON: Ah left hand, index finger—
GROGAN: Okay. Well that can explain some of that ah—um about ah Laci, she ever been injured in there?

GROGAN: Alright. There was –
PETERSON: (Overlaps above) She doesn’t ah, you know, work—head towards the yard and stuff but doesn’t work like I work so—I don’t know if she stopped in there with (coughs) cut hands or not but we never had an accident or anything like that.
GROGAN: Did ah—did Laci know you had that boat?
PETERSON: Yeah.
GROGAN: Okay.
PETERSON: Of course. Can’t go out and buy somethin’ you know, without tellin’ your wife.
GROGAN: Okay. Did she go with ya when you bought that or—
PETERSON: Not when I bought it, she came and saw it at the warehouse.
GROGAN: Okay. So she’s been at a warehouse before?
PETERSON: Oh yeah.
GROGAN: And ah—was that when—you bought it like two weeks before that? So she would a been at the—
PETERSON: Yeah—
GROGAN: at the warehouse around then?
PETERSON: Yeah um—I don’t know, I mean I had it for a few days before she came and saw it.
GROGAN: Okay.
PETERSON: If you need the date I’ve got the title and the bill of sale at the warehouse.
GROGAN: Okay.
PETERSON: Unless you have that already.
GROGAN: Um well we might but—they took a lot of paperwork over there, I don’t know what all they took. (Coughs) So she would have ah—would that have been the last time she was over there, though?

PETERSON: Ah—
GROGAN: Few days ___ boat?
PETERSON: No, she came over you know, when I was workin’
(Cough)
PETERSON: and she’d stop by and have lunch, or what not.
GROGAN: Okay. Can you—can you saw when the last time she was in there was?
PETERSON: Ah probably ah—it’s probably Friday.
GROGAN: Okay. So just a few days before she disappeared?
PETERSON: Yeah, I don’t know if she down there the weekend or not. It’s a pretty, you know, common stop for us goin’ to Home Depot—it’s on the way—stop and get a tool or whatever.
GROGAN: So on Friday did she stop by and have lunch with you or what?
PETERSON: No, no, not lunch on Friday. Remember that. Well, I’m not sure if she did or not. I mean I know we’d have lunch but I don’t know if she came by to say hi or not. I’d have to figure out what I did Friday to figure that out.
GROGAN: Ah so you’re not sure—you’re not sure if she came by or not?
PETERSON: No, I think so but I’m not sure, yeah—you know, I don’t—make a note of it or anything.
GROGAN: Okay. (Sighs) Um—let’s see—ah were you lookin’ for that boat for—for awhile or is that the first one you looked at or—
PETERSON: Um, looked at a couple others—and I was just lookin’ around for a nice clean—clean one—you look at all scrappy and weren’t registered and that kind of thing?
GROGAN: (Coughs) That one—ah—so you—when you talked to that guy it looked like it was in pretty good shape and al that when you bought it?
PETERSON: Yeah, yeah—it’s in great shape, it’s registered for years, you know—just a good fella.

GROGAN: Yeah he said it ran pretty good?
PETERSON: Yeah.
GROGAN: And ah—he run it for ya or anything?
PETERSON: No trust him on that.
GROGAN: Okay.
PETERSON: I started it out dry once.
GROGAN: Okay. Just at the shop or somethin’?
PETERSON: Yeah, exactly.
GROGAN: (coughs)
PETERSON: Craig, I’m sorry I’ve gotta go, I’ve got an interview—I’m gonna talk to some press here.
