Exhibit number is not identified.
January 16, 2003
ROCHA: Scott, this is Sharon, are you there? (Pause) Scott, pick up the
phone if you're there. I need to talk to you. Then call me at home at
*******.
(Long Pause)
ROCHA: Scott?
PETERSON: Yeah.
ROCHA: Where are you?
PETERSON: Ah I just loaded up all the stuff for the L.A. Command Center.
ROCHA: Oh.
PETERSON: Just left the Volunteer Center — I gave a couple interviews to the
press and then —
ROCHA: Well — since you've managed to lose all of my confidence in you what
I wanna know is — where's my daughter at, Scott?
PETERSON: I wish I knew, mom. I wish I knew where she is.
ROCHA: (Overlaps above) Yeah you do know. You do know where she is and I
want you to tell me — where is Laci and her baby? Where did you put 'em?
PETERSON: Where is my wife and our child? I don't know.
ROCHA: You killed my daughter, didn't you?
PETERSON: No I didn't mom.
ROCHA: Yes you did Scott. And I want to know — just let me bring my daughter
home, okay? That's all I want. I don't want anything else from you. I want
you to tell me where my daughter is — I want to be able to bury my daughter.
Now would you tell me where she is Scott?
PETERSON: Don't know where she is. I want my wife —
ROCHA: (Overlaps above) Stop lying. I'm tired of your lies. You have looked
me in the eye- for weeks and been lying to me. You have looked me in the eye
for years and been lying to me and to Laci. Now where is she?
PETERSON: I wish I knew.
ROCHA: (Overlaps above) You don't know. Stop lying. For once in your life
take some responsibility and tell the Goddamn truth. Where is my daughter?
PETERSON: I want her home, mom and —
ROCHA: (Overlaps above) Shut up — don't tell me such stupid things. You tell
me where she is. Where did you put her? (Pause) Scott, tell me where she is
—
PETERSON: I'm sorry —
ROCHA: and you can run away—you can go do whatever the f--- you want, but
you tell me where my daughter is.
PETERSON: I'm sorry —
ROCHA: I have every right to know — where you put Laci.
PETERSON: We all have a right to know where Laci —
ROCHA: (Overlaps above) Quit lying to me. Don't bulls--t me. You tell me
where she is.
PETERSON: We all want her home.
ROCHA: Shut up. You are such a f---king liar. You make me sick, Scott. Where
is Laci? Tell me where Laci is — I want to be able to bury my daughter. Now
tell me what you did with her.
PETERSON: I want her and our child home —
ROCHA: Oh shut up. You're disgusting. Do you know there's not a person in
this town who wants to see your face? Now you tell me where she is and then
you can get the hell out of here. Tell me where she is. I want my daughter,
Scott. That's all I want from you. I don't care what happens to you.
PETERSON: (Overlaps above) — Mom. We all want her back.
ROCHA: Oh God, you are disgusting. (In background) Do you have anything to
say to him?
GRANTSKI: If you've got anything left in you, Scott, you better tell us
where she is.
PETERSON: I wish I knew, Ron. We all want her back.
GRANTSKI: No. The police have- the police are gonna be seeing you before
long, Scott. And your world is crumbling.
PETERSON: My world is done without Laci and my child. We all want her back
and I'm sorry that you guys feel I had something to do with it. But the only
important thing is getting her back.
GRANTSKI: Scott, I don't know how you can just — I don't know how you can
this — just keep saying we've seen pictures —
PETERSON: (Overlaps above)... truth —
GRANTSKI: we've seen other things so — you're in trouble. We want her back.
PETERSON: We all want her back. There's no question to that. We're — we need
to find her and Conner.
ROCHA: (In background) I know — well same thing — I want her back too. I
want her back too.
GRANTSKI: I've had enough of this. I don't wanna talk to you any more. You
tell us where Laci is. (Hangs up)
